The bad duplicate seemed just to exist in the background. Searching the internet did not turn up anything of interest, so I grep'd the various settings
that gsettings offers. My first idea was to set gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background show-desktop-icons false, which temporarily solved the issue,
but only temporarily. After the next boot, the desktop was completely empty, so I set it to "true" again.

The solution was gsettings set org.nemo.desktop show-desktop-icons false, which removed the "bad" duplicates and only left the clickable ones.

Free Online Project Management Software2016-03-31T00:00:00+02:002016-03-31T00:00:00+02:00Jan Niggemanntag:hz6.de,2016-03-31:/free-online-project-management-software.html
qdPM - unknown but interesting

Today I took a look at qdPM which describes itself
this way:

qdPM is a free web-based project management tool suitable for a small
team working on multiple projects. It is fully configurable. You can
easy manage Projects, Tasks and People. Customers interact using a
Ticket System that is integrated into Task management.

Installation was easy using the built-in installer, just configure the
DB connection parameters and your're good to go.

qdPM is highly configurable and distributed under the Open Software
License 3.0. It's available in
multiple languages,
written in php and uses the symfony
framework. qdPM is a very mature product, I
tested its 9.0 version. It's been around since ca 2009, but that was
difficult to find out since I couldn't find a public repo).

I did not look at qdPM in depth, but it reminds me of
redmine, although it lacks the SCM integration
and wiki. It does however integrate forums, tasklists as well as issue-
and time tracking. A huge plus is the reports section, where you can
create various reports by just clicking them together.

I was just curious and do not actually need another online project
management software so I didn't keep it, but qdPM is definitely worth a
look.
Linux backup software2016-02-11T00:00:00+01:002016-02-11T00:00:00+01:00Jan Niggemanntag:hz6.de,2016-02-11:/linux-backup-software.html
A quick look at attic, bup, dar and obnam

OK, so I took a quick look at various backup programs available for linux. This post is neither complete nor completely unbiased, as
I already use obnam and am quite satisfied with it. I wanted to re-compare some alternatives anyway, but the
other programs didn't even fit my feature requirements.

attic

Gone unmaintained in 2015 and eventually got forked after not accepting community
contributions. Needs to be installed on the backup server, too.
Update: Domain attic-backup.org bacame unavailable in March 2021.

dar

No deduplication available and you have to rotate the backups yourself.

bup

Citing from bup's website:

'bup restore' can't pull directly from a remote server.

bup currently has no way to prune old backups.

This kernel works flawlessly on my venerable Lenovo T400.
